Detail from an embroidered and appliquéd hanging made in 1870 by Burmese prisoners of war on the Andaman Islands. It was offered as a gift in thanks to the Governor, a relation of the Palmer's of Dorney Court, Windsor, for the prisoners kind treatment.
Projects
Projects of all sizes are undertaken

Textiles have been used in the most diverse ways, and across a vast range of historical styles and design movements. Categories of objects commonly conserved in the Studio include upholstery, samplers, tapestries, costume, and embroideries.

Special strengths:
- the conservation of tapestries
- cleaning, conserving and mounting of embroideries and samplers
- condition surveys for museums, historic houses, and collectors
- in situ work
- large three-dimensional objects. Carriages can be accommodated in the Studio
